A series of overlapping weather systems is expected to influence conditions across the UAE over the coming days, bringing a noticeable shift toward cooler, cloudier, and potentially wetter weather.
A WAM report notes that from Wednesday through Saturday, the country will see conditions turning partly cloudy at times, with chances of scattered rainfall concentrated mainly in coastal, northern, and eastern regions. These developments are the result of a mix of systems interacting across the region, contributing to the formation of more clouds and the likelihood of intermittent showers.

Supporting this outlook, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) highlights that a surface low-pressure system, combined with an upper-air low, is steering the atmosphere toward increased instability. The resulting weather pattern is expected to drive periods of cloud cover, scattered rain, and strengthening winds, particularly around coastal and northern areas where these systems tend to exert greater impact.
Winds will fluctuate between southeasterly and northeasterly directions, generally remaining light to moderate but occasionally strengthening enough to stir dust and reduce visibility. Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf, while the Sea of Oman is expected to stay relatively calm with slight conditions.
Cooling trend extends across regions
Today’s forecast reflects the early influence of this shifting atmospheric setup. The country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies at intervals, with western areas seeing the most pronounced cloud cover. Temperatures are set to decline across large parts of the country, marking a clear cooling trend.
Along coastal zones, temperatures are expected to range between 25°C and 29°C. Inland areas will register slightly higher daytime readings, with highs near 31°C and nighttime lows that may fall to 16°C. Mountainous regions will be the coolest, with daytime temperatures between 19°C and 25°C and nighttime conditions that may drop to 10°C.
Wind speeds will vary between 10 and 25 km/hr but may reach 35 km/hr at times. These shifting winds, ranging from northwesterly to southeasterly across coastal and inland areas, and from northeasterly to southeasterly in mountainous zones, will continue to influence local conditions throughout the weekend.

The NCM’s extended forecast outlines a continuation of cloud cover and rain chances across the UAE through Sunday, with day-by-day variations driven by evolving wind patterns and humidity levels.
Thursday, November 27
Cloudiness will persist across coastal and northern areas, maintaining ongoing chances of rainfall. Winds will gradually shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, sometimes becoming fresh. Seas in the Arabian Gulf will fluctuate between slight and moderate.
Friday, November 28
Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions will continue, particularly across northern regions. Rain remains possible, and humidity levels are expected to rise overnight, especially inland. The familiar southeasterly-to-northwesterly wind pattern will return, with speeds reaching up to 35 km/hr at intervals.
Saturday, November 29
Cloud cover is forecast to expand further, stretching across coastal, northern, and eastern areas. With the increase in cloud depth, the probability of rainfall also rises. High nighttime humidity could lead to mist formation by Sunday morning, particularly in inland zones.
Sunday, November 30
The country will remain generally partly cloudy, with the possibility of light rainfall in coastal and northern areas. With humidity levels climbing again overnight, the potential for morning mist on Monday is expected to remain high.
The NCM is urging residents to keep track of updated forecasts as intermittent rain, strengthening winds, and the possibility of mist may affect visibility and weekend travel plans. Those engaging in outdoor activities or planning road journeys are encouraged to monitor conditions closely as weather patterns shift throughout the week.
