You’re lost. Even worse, there’s no cell signal. The last thing keeping you from fully freaking out is that little blue dot — the universal sign that, somewhere up above, a GPS satellite has eyes on you. But what if you don’t even have that? Kanwar Singh thinks he’s got a solution. For the past few years he’s been building a vision-based navigation system with his startup Skyline Nav AI. The so-called Pathfinder software can look at almost anything — buildings, tree-lined roads, even aerial views — and quickly match it to a database and generate real-time navigation. That could…

Miraqules co-founder and CEO Sabir Hossain always knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and run his own business. But he never thought he’d launch a biotech company built around a technology that would have been able to help his father after a near-tragic accident years earlier left him almost bleeding to death. Bengaluru-based Miraqules developed a nanotechnology in powder form that mimics blood clotting proteins. The blood clotting powder rapidly produces fibrous compounds at room temperature that are a high volume to ratio and can absorb blood quickly when applied. “This is a product that will give…

When it comes to supplying electricity to large enterprises with multi-building campuses, the allocation system is archaic. Unlike homeowners, who pay for what they actually use, campuses buy a standard monthly capacity. This capacity must, by common-sense necessity, be based on max usage needs. This is true even if the company only consumes such max usage rarely, like a single busy season. That was a situation that bothered the hell out of COI Energy founder and CEO, SaLisa Berrien. After earning her degree in mechanical engineering (and later an MBA), she spent 25 years as an energy engineer at major…

Developers hate (bad) marketing, but they still need a way to find useful tools and services. That’s why you’ll find a preponderance of developers on forums and sites like Hacker News, Reddit, and Stack Overflow discussing their dev kits and why some tools are better than others. That buying intent is the signal that Israeli startup Onfire wants to help software vendors capture. The company monitors public forums to learn what tools devs are discussing, and then uses AI to identify which companies those commenters work with and who the decision makers there are. The platform also layers in data…
